Engaging in professional development activities is a necessity for all nurses. It helps to ensure that clinical practice is based on the most recent evidence.
The sourcing and application of evidence relevant to the local setting is, however, a challenge to nurses in the African region. Research conducted locally is scarce and many nurses are not skilled in the identification and critical assessment of appropriate articles.
One way to address this challenge is by attending organised professional development activities, and such are listed are the following pages:
- Building Children's Nursing for Africa Conference: A participative conference, held by the Child Nurse Practice Development Initiative, for neonatal, paediatric and paediatric critical care nurses to celebrate and build best practice of nurses in caring for children and their families.
